Farm Tap

A Farm Tap is a natural gas piping connection to an interstate or intrastate transmission pipeline.

A Farm Tap customer is a person who receives natural gas through such a system.

If you own drain tile, irrigation lines, buried power or any other buried services that enter the public right of way, it is a legal requirement to register those facilities with South Dakota 811. This applies to farm tap customers, as well. Your membership gives you a chance to mark and protect your facilities to avoid damage by excavators working in the area. Avoiding a damage means no loss of service and no safety issues. The cost to protect your investment is low.
